Tarot Clarity – Saturn in Aquarius – King of Cups

Saturn in Aquarius, from 3-21-2020 to 3-7-2023.

The power of Saturn to adjust and amend the narratives that hold our society together will be harsh for those who resisted the corrective effect of Saturn in Capricorn, and it will be a reward of blessings due for those who were able to be still, humble themselves, and unlearn the cultural brainwashing that has for far too long divided western society into a de facto caste system.

The King of Cups has mastered the emotional realm. He sets the example that the ultimate wisdom is expressed as kindness. When we project our unresolved feelings onto others, we believe all sorts of stories about what they do and don’t deserve. But we can see all beings as equal, and equally deserving of love, when our own feelings are under control. The King of Cups does not even seem to be interested in the symbol of his emotions- he transcends it and stays focused a bigger picture.

Saturn in Aquarius will provide a restructuring of the collective, away from stratification and towards egalitarianism. Will this manifest as utopian democratic socialism, or postapocalyptic martial law? The King of Cups channels our highest ideals for equality, but when afflicted he can also represent indifference. As Saturn transits Aquarius we all have the power to align ourselves with a reality where we see our whole human family as equally deserving of safety, happiness, and freedom, and rise up to reject the advances of those who are still clinging to 3D decay, and their view that the whole human family is equally deserving of nothing.

Tarot Clarity – Psyche in Aquarius – Queen of Swords

March 15th 2019: Asteroid Psyche begins her transit through Aquarius that will last all year until December 26th, due to her retrograde that lasts from June 20th to September 24th. Psyche’s orbit is in strong resonance with Earth, orbiting the Sun once in exactly five Earth years. During this five year cycle she goes retrograde four times in the same four signs; she retrogrades in Aquarius on years ending with 4 and 9.

The Queen of Swords brandishes her weapon while seated with a hand over her belly, a mirror image of major arcana III The Empress. Where the Empress is active, representing gestation and the fluid nature of creativity that takes the shape of its container, Queen of Swords is receptive, representing the defensive power of intellectual presence, that still center of inner knowing that cannot be swayed by a world designed to overstimulate with distractions to obfuscate the truth. The Queen of Swords is the eye of the storm.

Psyche in Aquarius as Queen of Swords cuts through the fog with clarity and wisdom, secure in her knowledge of who she is and what she is here to do- a pure soul seeking the light.

Tarot Clarity – Sekhmet in Aquarius – Justice

On March 7th 2019, asteroid Sekhmet enters Aquarius, my natal placement for the original goddess, the mother of all other gods.

Libra is cardinal air- the firmament. Gemini is mutable air- wind. Aquarius is fixed air- lightning.

The embodiment of how maturity forms from adversity, her unseen fingers of blazing destruction touching down with love and life, Sekhmet in Aquarius is the Lady of the Lightning, gracefully shrieking and flinging her rhythm upon the stone drums of this wounded earth.

Justice is the symbol of balance. Her knee and elbow purposefully influencing the position of the scales, and the asymmetrical design of the card, are blatant reminders that balance is not a concept of unbothered stillness. It is a dynamic process of reckoning and accountability. Equity and equality are not the same thing. Justice is the symbol of perfection without perfectionism.

Sekhmet and Justice both represent maximum wisdom, which is of course maternal wisdom. The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world. Sovereignty, self-governing, personal authority… these concepts become deeply poisoned in wounded mother lines, the root cause of poor boundaries and low self esteem. Justice representing Sekhmet in Aquarius is a meditation on sovereignty, taking a stand to claim that which is yours, and firmly rejecting that which is not yours.

Tarot Clarity – Venus in Aquarius – Ace of Wands

Venus enters Aquarius. Building on the practical logistics of achieving goals in Capricorn, Venus now has the freedom to pursue the unconventional desires closest to her heart. Pablo Picasso explained this shift perfectly with his famous quote “Learn the rules like a pro (Capricorn) so you can break them like an artist (Aquarius)”

The Ace of Wands is the infinite potential from which all possibilities of creative passions emerge, appetites not yet indulged nor denied. Underneath our conscious awareness of our desires, there are primal urges behind the goals and dreams we pursue. Venus in Aquarius defies convention to honor these urges.
