Tarot Clarity – Saturn in Aquarius – King of Cups

Saturn in Aquarius, from 3-21-2020 to 3-7-2023.

The power of Saturn to adjust and amend the narratives that hold our society together will be harsh for those who resisted the corrective effect of Saturn in Capricorn, and it will be a reward of blessings due for those who were able to be still, humble themselves, and unlearn the cultural brainwashing that has for far too long divided western society into a de facto caste system.

The King of Cups has mastered the emotional realm. He sets the example that the ultimate wisdom is expressed as kindness. When we project our unresolved feelings onto others, we believe all sorts of stories about what they do and don’t deserve. But we can see all beings as equal, and equally deserving of love, when our own feelings are under control. The King of Cups does not even seem to be interested in the symbol of his emotions- he transcends it and stays focused a bigger picture.

Saturn in Aquarius will provide a restructuring of the collective, away from stratification and towards egalitarianism. Will this manifest as utopian democratic socialism, or postapocalyptic martial law? The King of Cups channels our highest ideals for equality, but when afflicted he can also represent indifference. As Saturn transits Aquarius we all have the power to align ourselves with a reality where we see our whole human family as equally deserving of safety, happiness, and freedom, and rise up to reject the advances of those who are still clinging to 3D decay, and their view that the whole human family is equally deserving of nothing.

Tarot Clarity – Mercury in Libra – Eight of Cups

September 14th 2019: Mercury enters Libra, a transit that embodies gregarious, magnanimous, diplomatic communication. In the sign of the scales, Mercury brings our focus to our awareness of how we are received, and places the highest priority on rapport.

The Eight of Cups is the card of emotional mastery, which is the experience of truly feeling oneness with everything. Where the Four of Cups can be seen as a symbol of merging with a partner in a sacred marriage, the Eight of Cups is a symbol of merging with the universe.

Mercury in Libra as the Eight of Cups is a symbol of being ultimately open minded and being able to relate to everyone, having authentic interest in the different experiences that produce different personalities and beliefs. Tarot Clarity – Sekhmet in Leo – Ace of Cups

Sekhmet’s energetic correspondence with the Sun gives her an exalted quality in Leo. This placement destroys blocks to self-knowledge, exposing our innate awareness of identity and ultimate potential.

The Ace of Cups represents the realm of feelings. It does not point to any particular emotion, it refers to the infinite potential from which all possible emotional realities emerge. In context here it seems to be a direct reference to the emotional layer of the aura, also known as the lightbody.

Tarot Clarity – Sun in Virgo – Page of Cups

August 23rd 2019: The Sun leaves Leo, the sign of its essential expression, and enters Virgo, where solar codes are translated and ritualized into the cycle of Earth’s seasons. The lessons of the sacred flame can be found in the progression from Leo to Virgo- fixed fire to mutable earth- the lessons of embodiment.

Everyone alive today between the ages of 8 and 80 has fixed star Regulus, the Heart of the Lion constellation, on their natal chart at 29 Leo, marking the end of an era that lasted for 2,160 years where the human heartspace was imprinted with the archetype of kings and crusades. Regulus shifted from Leo to Virgo in November of 2011, and now the Lion Heart codes are received as archetypes of earth priestesses. Our task in human history is to make the heartspace transition from a Leo expression of domination, hierarchy, and pride, to a Virgo expression of ritual, substance, and belonging.

Virgo is the natural home of Ceres, the goddess often attributed to the bland keyword “agriculture.” But she is the goddess of the mysteries of the grain, and her role is in the effect on human consciousness when crops are planted and a relationship is formed with the earth, investing knowledge and effort into the land for best outcomes, knowing you are beholden to natural forces beyond your control, and always making accommodations for the variance of the seasons: planting, harvest, loss, repeat.

The Page of Cups is a symbol of someone who is not sure how they really feel. Bertrand Russell famously said “The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people are so full of doubts.” The Page of Cups embodies these wise doubts. He has taken the lid off his cup and is peering inside, questioning. This is a card for someone taking a new look at how their emotions filter their experience of reality, for the first or for the 100th time. It can be equally relevant for someone who suppresses their emotions and wants to learn how to open up, as for someone whose emotions are messy and volatile and wants to learn how to hold themselves accountable.

Sun in Virgo as the Page of Cups shows the importance of continually taking inventory of your emotions, because there is work that must be done here, to weave a masterpiece of life from a million tiny threads, to take infinite words and create recipes with a simple grammar, to bring divine order to earth. Doing this Virgo work has a funny way of exposing all challenges to your sense of secure emotional maturity, requiring a Page of Cups mentality to self-examination.

A King is someone whose power comes from the respect of many followers. A Priestess is someone whose power comes from self control and commitment to ritual.

Tarot Clarity – Mars in Virgo – Nine of Cups

August 17th 2019: After being tested by the aggressive final degrees of Leo, Mars graduates to the sign of Virgo. Mars in Virgo is the ancient masculine monk/priest archetype, that is embodied best in the modern era by the archetype of a professor in a book-filled office, a world leading expert in his chosen field of study, never making time for a relationship or family, his passion directing him to use all of his life to research, collect a body of knowledge, and teach earnest students.

The Nine of Cups represents what Alejandro Jodorowsky calls “the autumn of the heart,” time to harvest the emotions in such a way that we are ready to move on. He also mentions sacrifice and detachment- core concepts of mutable earth sign Virgo.

Mars in Virgo as the Nine of Cups is a symbol of the teacher/student dynamic, and the radical detachment strategy utilized by the most effective professors, in order to give all that they can give without micro-managing their students’ struggles in learning, their efforts in class, and their level of understanding of the material. His focus should not be up close on the student’s emotional experience, but from a higher perspective, on teaching the syllabus term after term and continually developing a deeper and more relevant curriculum- and most importantly, doing what it takes to be able to show up consistently. Mars in Virgo is the energy of the magnetic classroom connection that happens when students can rely on great professors to be predictable yet challenging, caring and yet totally impartial.

Tarot Clarity – Hekate in Libra – Six of Cups

July 22nd 2019: Asteroid Hekate enters Libra, the fall equinox point on the world axis. In the myth of Persephone, Ceres seeks Oracle Hekate to help her find her missing daughter, but instead receives the guidance that empowers her to accept that her child is not her posession and can not be held and kept safe forever. In this way, Hekate does not necessarily give us the answers we seek- regardless of what or how we ask, she shows us the only authentic path forward.

The Six of Cups is a card of consummation. Where the Three of Cups might represent finding one’s first love, the Six of Cups represents finding our life partner: a secure, fulfilling, sustainable emotional experience.

Hekate in Libra as the Six of Cups shows the wholeness that we must embody to safely step from one realm to the next. There are many ways to be split apart from oneself, wether shattered by trauma, or simply disorganized compartmentalization from years of living by other people’s rules and expactations, walking other people’s paths. These splits must be healed- or at the very least acknowledged and addressed- or any attempt to choose a new path in life will only increase the damage and cause more splits.

Tarot Clarity – Mercury in Cancer – Two of Cups

Mercury in Cancer is a unique placement in the sign ruled by the Moon because it is the only heavenly body that has a faster apparent motion than the innermost planet. When Mercury is in Cancer, the emotional layer of the lightbody receives more stimulation than the mental. This brings feelings into a sharper focus, which makes them harder to control when they are more prominent than our thoughts, but can also be clarifying in the way that it influences us to communicate differently.
