August 23rd 2019: Sekhmet, The Sparkling One, The Gleaming One, Dread Lioness enters the sign of the Lion Heart with a proud roar, fearless and conquering. Sekhmet’s energetic correspondence with the Sun gives her an exalted quality in Leo. This placement destroys blocks to self-knowledge, exposing our innate awareness of identity and ultimate potential.

The Ace of Cups represents the realm of feelings. It does not point to any particular emotion, it refers to the infinite potential from which all possible emotional realities emerge. In context here it seems to be a direct reference to the emotional layer of the aura, also known as the lightbody.

Sekhmet in Leo as the Ace of Cups invokes the mantra Sa Sekhem Sahu, which is a reference to harnessing the power of the breath to balance all layers of the lightbody. One of Sekhmet’s greatest gifts is self-realization, alignment with our higher selves.

Tarot Clarity – Venus in Leo – The Sun

July 27th 2019: Venus enters Leo. On the surface, this transit is about beauty. On a deeper level we can see that it is not so much about external appearance, rather it is all about standing in the spotlight. Receiving that level of attention is terrifying for many who have low self esteem. Venus in Leo is the blueprint for inner confidence and self-love that radiates from within and empowers us to soak up all the attention, all the love.

The Sun is a card of illumination and awareness, depicting a blazing sun over two child-like creatures. There are two similar child-like creatures on The Devil card, they seem happy and content and yet they are chained together. When The Devil and The Sun are viewed side by side, we can see how The Sun eliminates all shadows and reveals the chains to be an illusion. The creatures are no longer in denial and can now see the work that needs to be done.

The Sun card is also a symbol of male fertility, which is powerless without the presence of an “other” to receive it. A spotlight is only needed when a star is on stage.

The Sun for Venus in Leo tells a story about affinity, synergy, and interdependence. The shallowest possible expression is vanity, selfishness, and delusions of grandeur, because the values are limited to surface level beauty and reputation. The full spectrum experience is about divinity and humanity: learning to acknowledge that our worth is not a product that we can earn, and that all of our greatness comes from a sacred source that flows through us; and also that as humans we depend on each other as mirrors to reflect our greatness back to ourselves to assist us in developing and maintaining a healthy self-image.

Tarot Clarity – Sun in Leo – Empress

July 22nd 2019: The Sun enters Leo, the sign it is said to rule- the sign of the Lion Heart. It’s highest form of expression is a healthy ego dedicated in service to the upliftment of all consciousness and life. The Leo Sun needs to be noticed. It needs to be loved, praised, comforted, respected, made to feel special. This is not selfishness. These are fundamental human needs like clothing and shelter.

The Empress is the card of authentic expression, natural creation, and, very specifically, feeling confident about something with which we have no previous experience, like a young woman who has just given birth to her first child.

The Sun in Leo as the Empress shows us that the quest to mature, actualize the self, and achieve sovereignty is not about us, not about our individual accomplishments and reputations. Our radiance and greatness is not a unique function of our own egos, but a ray of light that shines through each of us from a divine source.

July 1st 2019: Mars enters Leo with swagger and thrust. Whenever the action planet shifts from a water sign to a fire sign, there is a palpable snap of attitude, ferocity, and forward momentum. In Aries, Mars wants to experiment. In Sagittarius, Mars wants to explore. In Leo, Mars wants to express. The shift from Cancer to Leo brings the direction of our actions away from relating and compromise, and towards our own unique passions and plans.

The Knight of Pentacles represents building on the totality of our experiences in the material realm to dream about the new worlds we can create. This card encompasses the energy of a person who achieved the pinnacle of success in a traditional career, then quit to open their own small business focused on their favorite hobby.

June 20th 2019: Juno is known as the Queen of the Gods, not due to her own identity but through her marriage to the King. Juno is arbiter of boundaries between self and other, a role that carries a particular intensity in Leo, the fixed fire sign of self-actualized healthy ego identity, ruled by the Sun.

The Moon is a card that symbolizes the universal feminine receptive godhead, reflecting the solar logos to illuminate a world where some of reality is revealed to us, while most of it is obscured behind the veil. The cosmic mother is unfathomable, so we ascribe her characteristics to something more obvious: a spherical satellite 25% the size of our own planet, whose gravitational pull has a prominent and obvious effect on the oceans, on female reproductive cycles, and on the vocalizations of wolves.

Juno in Leo as The Moon is a symbol of the asteroid Queen immersed in solar brilliance, and when we gaze upon the reflection, she reveals that the status of our relationship with the cosmic mother determines our emotional orientation to our own ego.

May 30th 2019: Apophis, the merciless sorcerer, enters Leo, the realm of ego lessons. Apophis in Leo draws out the contrast, no matter how subtle, between the identity that we idealize for ourselves, and the actual role we play in relationships, environment, and culture. The consequence of this difference on our emotional stability is immense.

Strength is the card most aligned with the symbolism of Leo, depicting a woman controlling the ego (Lion) with a gentle, hypnotic touch. When superhuman feats are achieved by brute strength, that’s domination. When superhuman feats are achieved by humility, that’s sacred.

The magic of Leo is that a healthy and humble ego is the key to conscious participation in the co-creation of reality. The hardest Leo pill to swallow is that even when we finally learn how to align ourselves with the assistance of divine intervention to move mountains, we are never guaranteed public recognition or material reward.

Tarot Clarity – Eros in Leo – The Fool

March 28th 2019: Eros enters Leo, a volatile and challenging ingress for the asteroid that bears the conflict of longing to connect while simultaneously resisting the connection, into the sign of the glorious radiating ego. This transit symbolizes facing fears about our selves. Insecurities that are deeper than our conscious awareness will rise to the surface to be recognized and addressed.

The Fool is the first card of the major arcana and is the beginning of a new journey in consciousness. The Fool’s awareness is liberated from goals, plans, strategies. True freedom comes in the absence of all projections- hopes as well as fears. The Fool trusts, and holds no expactations. This is the meaning of innocence.

Eros in Leo as the Fool represents being flexible with your desires and being humble enough to start over. There can be a distorted sense of loyalty to the hopes and fears we project onto our unfulfilled desires (our desires are intertwined with our perception of our identity), and it’s impossible to make a major life change when we are committed to resisting the truth about ourselves. Sometimes our yearnings are toxic energy dumps projected onto things that further enhance the illusion of separation; Sometimes our yearnings are a placeholder for an authentic connection that we are subconsciously preventing ourselves from accepting because of our deep rooted insecurities about what we think we do and don’t deserve.
