June 9th 2019: The goddess of the hearth enters Taurus, the sign of gathering resources. The name Vesta literally means Hearth- a reference not to the fire itself, but the container where the fire is built, stoked, and preserved.

The Two of Pentacles can be summarized as, the card of unfinished business. Like a foundation that has been set, for a house that has not yet been built; Like a collection of paints and brushes, that will be used to create a masterpiece; Like a casual acquaintance, that is destined to become a close friend.

Vesta in Taurus as the Two of Pentacles is a message about collecting your firewood. A Hearth is an empty chamber until we fill it with fuel and attend to it with our devotion.

May 31st 2019: Sekhmet, the Great Lady of The House of Life, the Devouring One, enters Taurus, the sign of growth establishing itself above ground. Seeds rupturing, reaching for the Sun.

The Ten of Pentacles indicates that prosperity has been achieved and is pointing the way to a new creative purpose. The Ten of Pentacles is the card of someone who has saved up, bought a big house, and filled it with beautiful furnishings and decorations. Financial prosperity has a limit, beyond the point where our needs are met, more money and more posessions will not bring us more happiness. When the material series is complete, the creative series must begin. The purpose of the symbolic big house, is to fill it with symbolic children.

The Ten of Pentacles for Sekhmet in Taurus represents the gardener pulling the non-thrivers away from the robust ones, so the quality of the garden can achieve maximum success.

The Seven of Cups represents the essence of kindness and generosity, the limitless and robust inner wealth that finds authentic joy in being shared with others.

Venus in Taurus as the Seven of Cups represents developing a mature emotional body that emits a positive presence, which shows us that active emotional connection arises naturally where inner treasure is abundant. Seeking out emotional connection without self-value is a deranged Yin that leaves us vulnerable to receive and carry whatever emotions are projected onto us. Venus in Taurus is about getting our hands in our own golden soil, cultivating the riches of self awareness, self-discipline, and self-esteem.

Mercury leaving Aries and entering Taurus is a shift that encourages more processing between thinking and speaking. In Aries, Mercury uses words reactively and experimentally. In Taurus, Mercury learns to use words with intention and strategy. A high level of committment to intention and strategy during the learning process is at the root of what is commonly perceived as stubbornness.

The Queen of Cups is immersed in the world of emotion, completely in control of her experience. She shares the joys and sorrows of all the world. She stamps her feet in anger. She kneels in prayer. She luxuriates in the rhythms of the Heart.

Mercury in Taurus as the Queen of Cups represents becoming so thoroughly secure in our own feelings that it increases our ability to use logic and reason. It represents being so in tune with the environment that we can consciously craft our communications for maximum effect. The Sun enters Taurus, fixed earth sign of acquiring and accumulating, establishing and stabilizing, a walled garden filled with row after row of sprouts. For most of the northern hemisphere this is the season of the return of warmth.

Pentacles represent the physical realm- bodies, clothes, houses, cars, computers, money, food- the factors that shape our inner self-image and external identity.

The Queen of Pentacles has maximum awareness of the sensory experience, immersed in the present moment. Her intense focus on The Way Things Are makes her resistant to compromise. She is what Alejandro Jodorowsky calls “the dog that defends the sun buried in her heart at the cost of her life.”

The Sun in Taurus as the Queen of Pentacles represents the stubborn bull: absorbed in the individual experience of living in a body, weighed down by the inertia of unwillingness to change.

On March 6th 2019, shortly after midnight on the west coast, Uranus enters tropical Taurus, finalizing his ingress into the sign of the bull for the next seven years. Uranus in Taurus will have a strong influence on developments in virtual reality, cryptocurrency, and medical technology, as well as earthquakes and weather changes affecting how land and water are used.

The Ace of Pentacles represents the origin point of all possibilities of manifestation on the physical plane. With Uranus in Taurus, it represents the power of human consciousness to revolutionize the way we make use of our resources and experience life corporeally. All social/cultural advances that improve quality of life, are the outer reflection of inner advances in human consciousness as we increase our understanding that we are all one.

The mechanistic view of consciousness says that each person’s thoughts are independently generated within their brain- but in reality, thoughts are generated in the collective and emerge into our individual awareness.

Your thoughts are yours, just as each breath you take is yours, but the air you breathe and the thoughts you think, don’t originate independently within you.
