May 31st 2019: Sekhmet, the Great Lady of The House of Life, the Devouring One, enters Taurus, the sign of growth establishing itself above ground. Seeds rupturing, reaching for the Sun.

The Ten of Pentacles indicates that prosperity has been achieved and is pointing the way to a new creative purpose. The Ten of Pentacles is the card of someone who has saved up, bought a big house, and filled it with beautiful furnishings and decorations. Financial prosperity has a limit, beyond the point where our needs are met, more money and more posessions will not bring us more happiness. When the material series is complete, the creative series must begin. The purpose of the symbolic big house, is to fill it with symbolic children.

The Ten of Pentacles for Sekhmet in Taurus represents the gardener pulling the non-thrivers away from the robust ones, so the quality of the garden can achieve maximum success.

Tarot Clarity – Sun in Gemini – Ten of Cups

Gemini is the sign of multiplication, quantity, polarity, and multiple dimensions- the sign of everywhere, the sign of all. The Gemini life force is vigorous, capricious, and earnest.

The Ten of Cups is the card of consummation, the experience of emotional fulfillment that characterizes an achievement. The Ten of Cups is not about finishing or ending something, it is about the satisfaction of accomplishment.

Gemini Season is about the world of options; options require discernment. The Ten is a card of non-attachment. The Ten of Cups representing the Gemini Sun is a reference to the great challenge of Gemini, which is to see every possible point of view, to be aware of every nuance, to swim amongst the infinity of thoughts and feelings, and learn to let it all pass by without getting carried away, personally identifying with too many conflicting energies, and burning out.

Tarot Clarity – Vesta in Aries – Ten of Wands

April 3rd 2019: Asteroid Vesta enters Aries, the priestess of the sacred flame enters the sign of cardinal fire.

The Ten, like the Ace, symolizes something outside the realm of lived experience. The Ace represents the essence of the suit in the form of its seed potential, and the Ten represents the fulfillment of the potential, with the understanding that fulfillment of one suit fertilizes the seed of the next. The fulfillment of Wands fertilizes the seed of Swords; a creative passion that has reached its ultimate expression fertilizes a new journey in the intellectual realm.

Zero Aries is the first degree, first sign of the zodiac, which can be a spotlight on all the ways we feel like a neophyte. The Ten of Wands representing Vesta in Aries reminds us that we would not be at this new starting point at all, if not for the levels of mastery we already achieved. The intellectual goals that seem intimidating now, are evidence that we are successfully giving birth to a more authentic version of ourselves.

As flame must be controlled and sculpted to flourish, spread warmth, and serve, so must the soul. Without the ritual and skills of the flame-keepers, fire brings pain and loss. Vesta in Aries as the Ten of Wands is the one who has been enlightened to the mysteries of embodiment, ready to learn the rituals of the sacred flame and dedicate their service to the temple.
