August 9th 2019: The dark madness of Apophis comes home to Libra, the realm of balance- which is a concept, not a creature- the scales are the only inanimate zodiac symbol. Balance is just an idea of relation to a core or center, it is not an actual thing, it is not a steady state that can be permanently achieved. Balancing requires navigation of chaos: assessing and accounting for infinite variables in a constantly changing environment.

The Three of Wands is a card that refers to a burst of creative energy that springs forth naturally, not from planning, not towards a goal, just fresh new urges. It can often indicate where energy is being wasted, or where the wad is being blown so to speak- because it is difficult for many to learn how to control the power of their creative impulses. But it is simply a symbol of the urgency of nature.

One thing that stands out to me about the Three of Wands is that I see it in three dimensions, it is the X-Y-Z axis of the firmament, with the flowers emerging from the zero point and the leaves curling into space. Apophis in Libra as the Three of Wands shows how the chaos of the creative urge is an essential factor in the stability of existence in this Universe. Life, uh, finds a way.

Tarot Clarity – Mercury in Gemini – Three of Cups

Mercury enters Gemini, home sign of the androgynous messenger, embodying the spirit of ideas, inspiration, cognition, and communication.

The Three of Cups is the card of the first crush, where our inner latent potential is activated by something or someone “other” causing a sudden explosive bloom of new feelings.

400 craters on Mercury are named after artists- writers, musicians, sculptors, painters- messengers of divine inspiration. The first spacecraft to enter orbit around Mercury was called MESSENGER, and at the end of its mission it crashed onto the planet, marking the surface on April 30th 2015, and on that same day Mercury entered Gemini.

Mercury in Gemini as the Three of Cups is whimsical yet volatile, creative and indecisive, curious and flirtatious, dangerous and fragile. It is a symbol of our desire to respond and participate with the things that touch us and move us. It represents the passionate use of communication and art to make your mark.

Tarot Clarity – Lilith in Pisces – Three of Swords

May 3rd 2019: Lilith enters Pisces, meaning that for the rest of 2019 the Moon orbits farthest away from earth in the sign of the deepest subconscious waters. The lunar apogee resonates with the energy of the feminine outcast. There are a huge variety of interpretations of Lilith that all reveal projections about sexuality in a society that is inhospitable and cruel to wild women.

The Three of Swords represents knowing nothing but being eager to learn, acknowledging and acting on the desire for knowledge. At this stage of the intellectual journey there is no distinction between facts and opinions and all new information is filtered by what feels right.

Lilith in Pisces as the Three of Swords is the choice to follow the white rabbit, down into the programming that informs our reactions of anger and shame about being rejected, ostracized, slandered, and/or attacked. Often “what feels right” to us, points to the ways that we are still bound to those who harmed us. Lilith in Pisces is an opportunity for a dark and difficult psychic transformation around these issues.
