Libra is a Yang sign, and of all the Yang signs Libra is the most aligned with the values of emotionless formal logic, which provides a sharply defined container that can enhance the sensual capacities of Venus.

As humans, we exist at the intersection of overlapping spheres, between the physical and the spiritual, the animal and the enlightened. The Devil card is a symbol of the bridge through the lower instincts to prehistoric collective fears and ancestral DNA memories.  The Pope card is a symbol of the bridge through higher consciousness to the cosmos, to the bliss of enlightenment, which can often be experienced as a visit from an angel, or speaking directly to God.

Venus in Libra as The Pope represents the divine proportions of beauty. The perfect balance of shape and shadow, refined taste and subtle flair, strikes us as rationally, objectively beautiful. The mathematical principles of visual appeal are androgynous, which requires a healthy flowing balance of Yin and Yang, neither dominating nor submissive.

Tarot Clarity – Venus in Virgo – The Lover

August 21st 2019: Venus enters Virgo, getting right to the heart of feminine perfectionism, the maternal work ethic, emotional investment in a structured routine of countless seemingly insignificant service acts that cumulatively add up to love. Venus in Virgo is the stay at home mom who calls herself a Domestic Engineer, Director of Child Development. She gets so much fulfillment from executing the duties of meeting others’ needs that she can easily intellectualize away her own desires with “shoulds” and “should nots.”

The Lover is a card about ambiguity and confusion. It’s about how different points of view on a single situation can create multiple conflicting narratives. It’s about secrets and rumors, or being caught red handed in a taboo act. When we truly abandon ourselves to the divine Lover, we often find ourselves in situations where we make choices that transcend sociocultural expectations and the moral principles we were raised with- choices that can have a tendency to disappoint, shock, or outright harm the people who depend on having predictable, practical relationships with us.

The Lover for Venus in Virgo shows the friction between being reliable and following your heart. An important lesson for this transit and placement is really understanding that there are always, always multiple points of view, but there is very rarely ever a best one. Tarot Clarity – Venus in Leo – The Sun

July 27th 2019: Venus enters Leo. On the surface, this transit is about beauty. On a deeper level we can see that it is not so much about external appearance, rather it is all about standing in the spotlight. Receiving that level of attention is terrifying for many who have low self esteem. Venus in Leo is the blueprint for inner confidence and self-love that radiates from within and empowers us to soak up all the attention, all the love.

The Sun is a card of illumination and awareness, depicting a blazing sun over two child-like creatures. There are two similar child-like creatures on The Devil card, they seem happy and content and yet they are chained together. When The Devil and The Sun are viewed side by side, we can see how The Sun eliminates all shadows and reveals the chains to be an illusion. The creatures are no longer in denial and can now see the work that needs to be done.

The Sun card is also a symbol of male fertility, which is powerless without the presence of an “other” to receive it. A spotlight is only needed when a star is on stage.

The Sun for Venus in Leo tells a story about affinity, synergy, and interdependence. The shallowest possible expression is vanity, selfishness, and delusions of grandeur, because the values are limited to surface level beauty and reputation. The full spectrum experience is about divinity and humanity: learning to acknowledge that our worth is not a product that we can earn, and that all of our greatness comes from a sacred source that flows through us; and also that as humans we depend on each other as mirrors to reflect our greatness back to ourselves to assist us in developing and maintaining a healthy self-image.

Tarot Clarity – Venus in Cancer – Two of Swords

The Two of Swords is the card of the everyday subconscious. It refers to any activity in the mental realm in the absence of conscious thoughts. The hidden processes that provide the foundation for our ideas and beliefs are represented by the flower and leaves exploding in the center of the card, riches bubbling up from under the surface of the mind.

Temperance represents making adjustments that restore wholeness. Temperance comes after Death in the major arcana: when Death’s clear-cutting is complete, the spirit of Temperance brings life back into balance.

The Seven of Wands is the actualization of a dream, the inspired action that turns the divine awareness of the six into the perfect manifestation of the eight.
